FROM THE CROW’S NEST [new song lyrics]

I look down from the crow’s nest
and watch this world implode;
knowing that this patent madhouse
is not my true abode.
That doesn’t mean I’m separate
with no empathic heart.
But from contamination
I will strive to stay apart.

They will say I’m an escapist
who cares not about folk.
But I’ll not partake in such charades
which are truly just a joke.
You can play those games without me,
as I just don’t have the time
to wallow in the tragic dirtspill
of the world’s unholy slime.

Crows in the nest
and a corpse upon the lawn.
There are consequences when you are
to the prince of darkness sworn.
Bats in your belfry
and illogic in your soul.
If you wilfully eschew the truth
all you have will all be stole.

I have had enough of living
through the madness, greed and war.
But yet I must still remain here
just to shine a light (and more).
I never thought I’d last out
for five times fifteen years
But it helps to be a sacred warrior —
one of God’s blessed musketeers.

The older that I have become
(and maybe wiser too),
has made me want to bid this world
a final grand adieu.
Nature’s beauty… friendly souls…
are all that keeps me sane
(that’s from a human standpoint,
for God does me sustain).

I have seen so many people
faking hurt to take offence.
And it’s always over nothing,
just playacting and pretence
to make out they are victims,
it’s unnecessary games —
so much needless postured posing
all designed to fan the flames.

For hatchets should be buried
and chips on shoulders burned.
Holding nothing against anyone —
no grudges, as I’ve learned.
This life is just a short ride;
It’s a candle with a wick.
To find the means to light it
is more than just a trick.

If you ask me sweetly for that light
I’ll likely give you rhyme —
a plethora of parables,
or a new-life paradigm.
For a poem has no meaning
without incandescent text.
In a world where light’s extinguished
then humanity is hexed.

It’s not enough to call yourself
a “truther” or “awake”.
Seeing through some worldly deeds
does not your rescue make.
Until you cry out from the heart
to Him who gave you breath,
then all you’ll gain from living life
is spiritual death.

Please know that who you hang out with
will make, for ill or good,
a huge difference to your welfare —
it’s so obvious it should.
Thus ensure that you get close to those
who are more advanced than you;
for in this way you’ll ripen
in all the sacred things you do.

This fallen world is running down
to a point of no return —
There’ll be a time of conflagration
when all that’s not of light will burn.
You may assume that none of this
could apply to you and yours;
but this will be the fruits
of mass rejection of God’s laws.
