I Love the Opportunity for Question and Answer Sessions!
[The “Objection” below is representative of what will be in many minds right now. I am grateful for the opportunity to handle it🙂]
Objection: “Mr. Morrison, I’ve had just about enough of your rants about our President, Donald Trump! They are so wide of the mark and chock full of bull. You really have no clue what you are talking about. Just stick to teaching Bible, though it’s boring enough when you do that. What makes you think that you, an ignorant Englishman, have anything to offer concerning the politics of the United States of America? Try writing about your own leaders who seem to be successfully destroying your country. At least President Trump is a Christian man of integrity who acts on his word for the people, which is more than I can say for your Prime Minister. I will be removing myself from your lists”.
Alan’s Response: Thank you so much for your communication and, above all, for giving me the opportunity to respond to what I imagine are fairly typical thoughts among the Conservative Christian American ‘community’. First, allow me to remind you that the ministry of Diakrisis is not merely confined to Bible teaching. Here is its decades-long mission statement:
- Presenting original articles and essays as a commentary on a wide range of topical, spiritual, social and pastoral issues, coupled with investigative exposition on any world developments which are of spiritual and prophetic interest, plus exposition of key Bible texts for our time.
- Holding out a hand of rescue to those who suffer psychological, emotional, or spiritual manipulation and abuse in the religious or spiritual scene in general.
- Providing counsel and encouragement for the spiritually-confused.
- Exposing deception and cultism both in the “Christian” scene and on the wider world stage.
On that basis, I think that my coverage about Donald Trump is absolutely justified. For it involves “investigative exposition on a world development which is of spiritual and prophetic interest”. It involves “holding out a hand of rescue to those who suffer psychological, emotional, or spiritual manipulation and abuse in the religious or spiritual scene”. It involves “providing counsel and encouragement for the spiritually-confused”. It involves “exposing deception and cultism both in the “Christian” scene and on the wider world stage”.
My friend, if you believe that Donald Trump is going to ‘save America’ and you think that he is a “Christian man of integrity”, then you are involved in a cult and have been utterly deceived. The inability for those who have MAGA-mania to have any self-awareness and perception about the man they think is their leader is a hallmark of cultism, whether political or religious. It is clear that Donald Trump is a completely unhinged narcissist, and that is putting it mildly. I have seen proof of that in so many of his public addresses. Try this, for example:
That is cult territory. He is about as far from being a true leader and statesman as it is possible to be. He is immature, uncultured, crass, unteachable, with no ability for empathy, and he tells lies. I have found that his followers share in those characteristics too. If you had read and digested my investigative article “The Cult of Trump and How He Has Created It”, you would see that this is true. (You can read that here:
https://diakrisis-project.com/…/the-cult-of-trump-and…/.
The reason I have been writing about all this is because so many have been deceived by all his malarkey. I might have expected non-Christian ‘conservative’ folks who (foolishly) still believe in the system to fall for Trump’s schtick. But when I see so many otherwise intelligent Christians falling for it, then I have to act decisively with my words, by “exposing deception and cultism”.
This apostate world is on a degenerate downhill trajectory. No politician can prevent that, for they are forced to operate within a satanic world-system as “the whole world is under the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19). The Greek there implies that this is destined, divinely appointed, set (as if in stone), as if in subjection to the evil one (Thayer’s Greek Lexicon). This is why disciples of Christ will have affliction in the world (John 16:33). It is a world that is, in the main, hellbent on building Satan’s pseudo-empire, wittingly or unwittingly. This is the way it is until Jesus’ return. The best that we can do is ameliorate somewhat in some ways on a temporary basis here and there. No multi-multi-multi-millionaire is going to bring about a “golden age”. Only someone who has no understanding of Scripture and no sense of occult history could possibly imagine that.
So, my friend, it is high time to get down off that high-horse of yours and turn on your discernment antenna. Do not get swept away with humanistic movements — especially those which make a demi-god out of a mere man, a hollow man at that. These are times in which we should stand back and observe with the utmost insight. Fare thee well…
