I have just this minute completed my second edition update of “The Serpent and the Cross: Religious Corruption in an Evil Age”, more than 31 years after its first edition in 1994. It now has two prefaces, twelve chapters and a postscript section. I wrote the greater part of the first edition while I was still at theological college. So much water has passed under the bridge since then. So much experience undergone and so much learned. So much disillusionment too; but that is a good thing. Illusions are useless! And all I see is a deepening of everything that I wrote about all those years ago.

The first edition had 640 pages containing 288,801 words. The second edition has 955 pages containing 401,240 words — an increase of 112,439 words, which is almost a 40% increase in content. It now represents wholly what I want to convey, containing an ocean of information, and is a worthwhile companion volume to my commentary on the Book of Revelation. POSTSCRIPT: Summing up the Salient Points of the Book

Currently, I have individual chapter proofreaders going through Chapter 11 with a fine toothcomb. Then (I hope!) they will inspect Chapter 12 and the Postscript. Then the whole-book proofreaders will get to work on it and should complete their task within a month. At present I have three people who have agreed to do this. If you would like to add your name to the list of whole-book proofreaders, be my guest! You could then also provide a ‘reader’s review’ if you so wish. (And, of course, you will receive a copy of the physical paperback book, when it has been printed).

When all is complete, the book will be released as a high-quality eBook for free download in publishing quality PDF format on my website. Those who would like a physical paperback to hold in their hands should notify me in advance and then I will print only enough copies for those who order and pay in advance, which will, of course, be cost price for printing. There are no profits made on spiritual artefacts round here. 🙂

I am under no illusions. Very few read in-depth these days. So I know that I have done this work for those few and in service to the Lord, which is my pleasure.
