A Review of “The Serpent and the Cross”
by a former minister in the UK
who had a “deliverance ministry”
“To convey the vast scope of the topics Alan Morrison covers in this book means the inclusion of words such as: Encyclopaedic and Comprehensive.
I first became aware of Alan when he sought to help people who were being damaged by deliverance ministries. Since, at the time, I was involved in deliverance ministry myself and had many who gave financial support to me, I was not ready to agree with him, but I was beginning to see for myself the concerns he raises. Later on, by God’s grace, I saw for myself the deception involved with most Charismatic and Pentecostal churches, and I realised that I was deeply involved in perpetuating the deception.
The information to help me was available but I had to find those who had been active in church and would tell their stories. This took a lot of time as I traced the deceptions which came to have a grip on churches over the last 200 years.
However, in this one book, Alan has drawn together and shows the various (historical and current) occult forces that have been at work for centuries in the facade we call church. A real measure of maturity is needed to understand how successful the Satanic schemes have been inside the church. The sad reality is that maturity and truth are rare commodities in organised Christianity.
My hope and prayer is that people who are uncomfortable with the circus which is modern Christianity will come across Alan’s work before they give up on church. His writings are absolutely essential for anyone seeking to understand what is behind many of the players on the world stage of the church.
I consider this book to be a must-read for those who have any misgivings about the modern practices in the church. It is a long book but it helps to explain any concerns you may have”.
