Commandment #1: Thou shalt not make thy country into an idol, nor its leader. For no country is “great” in this evil age and neither can it be, for they are all under the power of Satan and wallow in deception and subterfuge, whoever of goodwill tries to change it and whatever anyone tries to tell you otherwise. Fortunately, presumably to enable the spread of the Gospel, the level of deception and subterfuge in which the nations are steeped has been under some Divine restraint throughout the Gospel Age (2 Thessalonians 2:6-7), which is why occultism has of necessity thrived as part of the “mystery of lawlessness” (2 Thessalonians 2:7) and the “spirit of the Antichrist” (1 John 4:3). But there will come the time when that restraint will be removed (2 Thessalonians 2:7-8; Revelation 11:7; 20:7-8), and then the deception and subterfuge in the nations will be fully revealed with the formation of a global government under the “man of lawlessness”, the Antichrist (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4,8-9). In the meantime, your petty empires will come and go and your petty emperors too. Only God is “great” (Job 36:26) and He — through His Son — is your true ruler and the rightful sovereign of all nations (Psalm 2, especially verse 12).

Commandment #2: Thou shalt not get comfortable in this world as if it is thy home. You do not belong here. You are an alien living in a strange land, awaiting a better one (Hebrews 11:8-10,13-16). You are just briefly passing through. This present creation is not the ‘be-all-and-end-all’; it is but a temporary stepping-stone to something infinitely more wonderful and dirt-free. For you are a new human creation who is being prepared for the new cosmic creation to come (Daniel 7:18; Revelation 21:1-2), the “age to come”.

Commandment #3: Thou shalt not indulge in nasty gossip about others behind their backs, nor shalt thou assassinate the character of another. If you have something to say, you should say it to their face with firmness and grace. Backbiting or snidely disparaging others is for the small minds of unregeneracy (James 1:26; Ephesians 4:29).

Commandment #4: Thou shalt not make Divine worship into a source of crass entertainment. When you meet together on a Sunday, as is your tradition, you will be centred simply and humbly on the Word of God rather than creating a gaudy spectacle. Such meetings are not to provide “an opportunity for everyone to use their talents” (as I have heard many say, as if the ekklesia is a self-help agency), but rather for everyone to be centred on something other than themselves for once — namely, on God and His Word, which will speak to you if you have ears to hear.

Commandment #5: Thou shalt reveal to the world who thou truly art and to Whom thou wholly belongest and not hide any of it undercover (Matthew 5:15). You will live your life as if it is a witness to your God and how he has recreated you through His Son and His Spirit. When the world sees you, it should know that you are not like them and that you represent something godly and that you speak and act on behalf of the God who is other than this cosmos. Be visible and productive, “the sweet aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing” (2 Corinthians 2:15).

Commandment #6: Thou shalt not indulge in histrionic speculation about future events on this earth. Information has been given to you in God’s Word about the way that the future will unfold — sometimes specifically, sometimes more generally, other times more cryptically. There is much that has not been revealed to us, for good reason! Obsessing about eschatological matters is neurotic and unbecoming of a child of God; and if all that obsessing is based on speculation or on the whims of manmade eschatological systems, then it is sinful too.

Commandment #7: Thou shalt not impersonate Apostles today or thou wilt for sure be a false one and suffer the fate of a false one — thine end corresponding to thine actions (2 Corinthians 11:15). The qualifications for a genuine New Testament Apostle cannot possibly be fulfilled by anyone today (see pages 62-69 of this downloadable eBook: https://diakrisis-project.com/2023/05/13/new-book-signs-wonders-divine-revelation-the-gifts-of-the-spirit-their-abuses-in-todays-churches/ or read pages 830-837 of “The Serpent and the Cross”).

Commandment #8: Thou shalt not claim to be a prophet today or thou wilt for sure be a false one and suffer the fate of a false one — bringing swift destruction on thyself (2 Peter 2:1). The qualifications for a genuine New Testament Prophet cannot possibly be fulfilled by anyone today (see pages 85-90 of this downloadable eBook: https://diakrisis-project.com/2023/05/13/new-book-signs-wonders-divine-revelation-the-gifts-of-the-spirit-their-abuses-in-todays-churches/ ).

Commandment #9: Thou shalt not spend thy time trying to hype-up a so-called ‘revival’. For the vast majority of so-called ‘revivals’ are psychologically induced using manipulative techniques (e.g. so-called “impartation”, as it is crudely known) to induce seductive but satanic manifestations in gullible people. In any case, to revive something means to bring something back to life which was at one time living. Think about it. Re-vive. Therefore ‘revival’ cannot possibly pertain to unbelievers as they are “dead in their trespasses and sins” and cannot be brought back to life as they were never alive in the first place! To bring unbelievers to life involves genuine evangelism using the Word of God, not any kind of ‘revival’ techniques or concocted “impartations”. The Gospel is primarily life-giving rather than merely reviving. Therefore authentic revival should really involve providing spiritual food for genuine believers who have backslidden or “lost their first love” or got lost in the glitterful quagmire of modern pseudo-“Christianity”, with its glitzy razzmatazz at one extreme or its dirgeful formalism at the other extreme. Revive the saints with reminders of who and Whose they really are. Bring to life the lost with the Gospel call to salvation — though the stark reality is that “narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it (Matthew 7:14). We so much want to play the numbers game like some kind of secular ringmaster. But our role is not to try and “bump up the numbers” by wangling or contriving any so-called “revival” but, as Christ Himself said, to “go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). The desire to create or see mass “revival” in the world is wholly misplaced and is the result of the frivolous Pelagian or semi-Pelagian mentality which has spread across the visible church like a blanket contagion.

Commandment #10: Thou shalt be prepared, if necessary, to stand absolutely alone in this world for the sake of truth. Do not be seduced into abandonment of truth by any imagined need for friendship, fellowship or social communion. The magnitude of truth is infinitely more important than our petty insecurities and need for validation from other people (2 Corinthians 13:8). There are two realisations to which diligent disciples of Christ must come: 1) That without their Master they can do nothing (John 15:5). 2) That apart from Him, they need nothing (Colossians 2:10; 1 Corinthians 3:21). When one has wholly grasped these things, then one will be prepared to stand utterly alone for the truth, if called upon to do so, which soon may very well be the case.
