By far the best known and most popular of all the New Age ‘channelled’ works is the 1300-page book, “A Course in Miracles” (Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1974). This work was ‘channelled’ through psychology professor Dr. Helen Schucman, who was Assistant Head of the Psychology Department at Presbyterian Hospital in New York and Associate Professor of Medical Psychology at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. At the time, she was working for former CIA employee, William Thetford, who himself had worked on the CIA’s mind-control experiment, “MKUltra: Subproject 130”

[See these links for details of Thetford’s work on CIA mind-control projects: https://archive.org/details/mkultrasubproject130thetfordandsaundersalsolinkedtosubproject77/page/n5/mode/2up  . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Thetford#Research_Funded_by_Project_MKULTRA ].

It doesn’t take a genius to work out how Helen Schucman came to be channelling messages from an alleged “Jesus” into a highly influential 1300-page book which has led many millions astray. In an article entitled “A Course in Miracles: a CIA exercise in mind control?”, the following statement is made: “The Pentagon and the Kremlin are indeed dabbling in the black arts. They are seriously trying to develop weapons based upon extrasensory perception… A Course in Miracles seems to have been a part of this psychic warfare… the question is: what was its intended purpose?” (See https://www.radiantlunatic.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/A-Course-in-Miracles_-a-CIA-exercise-in-mind-control.pdf ). I can answer that question, for unless it is understood spiritually it will not be understood at all. Simply put, “A Course in Miracles” was written to undermine the truth about the true Christ and substitute an impostor-Christ (the channelled ‘Jesus’), of which Christ Himself (the real Christ) prophesied that there would be many:

“Jesus answered, ‘See to it that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many… At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders that would deceive even the elect if that were possible. See, I have told you in advance’” (Matthew 24:3-4, 23-25).

‘A Course in Miracles’ presents a false Christ and is representative of the philosophy known as ‘New Thought’, which has exercised a great deal of influence on the New Age Movement (https://www.newthought.org/New-Thought-Movement ). That “A Course in Miracles” should have been initiated by the CIA should come as no surprise. For the more we delve into that institution’s activities, the more we see that it is dabbling in the dark side and peddling the teachings of demons — in this case darkness posing as light (For much more detail about these CIA activities, please see my eBook, “Discerning the Signs of the Times”, available here:

https://diakrisis-project.com/2022/09/14/new-book-discerning-the-signs-of-the-times/ ). For one of the extraordinary factors surrounding this “A Course in Miracles” is that it claims to be channelled from the biblical Christ. This has led to it finding popularity among many misguided professing Christians (especially among former New Agers looking for a non-judgemental and user-friendly “christ”), and it has even been found on the shelves of some ‘Christian’ bookshops. The founder of the “Centre for the Study of American Religion” claims that the reason why the popularity of ‘A Course in Miracles’ has been greatest among those who have been disillusioned by organised Christianity is:

“because it offers Westerners a scripture based on the premises of Eastern religion in a form which is compatible with the historical worldview common to Judeo-Christianity and the modern emphasis on psychology” (J. Gordon Melton, New Age Almanac (Visible Ink, 1991), p.54).

In fact, ‘A Course in Miracles’ is the ideal work for the aspiring neo-Gnostic — a twentieth century “Gnostic Gospel”. It aims to encourage in its readers the onset of “paradigm shifts” in perception (the miracles of the title) which will enable them to abandon all illusions and reawaken their alleged ‘divine consciousness’. Among the illusions which, according to this book, need to be off-loaded are the belief in the reality of space and time, sin, judgement, pain, death, disease, and so on. This book is at the sharp end of the Channelling market and aims to cut a swathe through the teaching of the Church by presenting itself as a vital work on individual Christian growth. A superficial reading of it by an untaught believer could easily lead to it being taken on board as viable Christian teaching — especially for those who mistakenly believe the skilfully-crafted satanic lie that Divine revelation is still being given today through prophecy or “words of knowledge”.

‘A Course in Miracles’ was surely dictated to the unfortunate Helen Schucman by an entity from the demonic realm masquerading as ‘Jesus’. The real Jesus is not available ‘on tap’ like that as He must remain in the place appointed for Him by the Father (“heaven”) until His return at the end of this age (Acts 3:21). Even if He was available ‘on tap’ to channellers, He would certainly not be teaching such blatant ‘New Thought’ falsehoods! In his book, “The Miracle Detective”, Randall Sullivan, a former contributing editor of Rolling Stone newspaper for twenty years, writes about the reminiscences of Father Benedict Groeschel who knew Helen Schucman personally:

“From [Groeschel’s] point of view, A Course in Miracles served to undermine authentic Christianity more effectively than just about any other work he could recall, and while he was inclined to reject the position of St. John of the Cross that ‘these things are diabolical unless proven otherwise’, doubts had crept in over the years. Most troubling to him by far was the ‘black hole of rage and depression that Schucman fell into during the last two years of her life’, the priest explained. She had become frightening to be with, Groeschel recalled, spewing psychotic hatred not only for A Course in Miracles but ‘for all things spiritual’. When he sat at Schucman’s bedside as she lay dying, ‘she cursed, in the coarsest barroom language you could imagine, ‘that book, that goddamn book’. She said it was the worst thing that ever happened to her. I mean, she raised the hair on the back of my neck. It was truly terrible to witness’” (Randall Sullivan, “The Miracle Detective”, Atlantic Monthly Press, 2004).

I have seen and heard too much to know that this kind of experience is common in relation to those who have been channels for satanic influence, leading to a dark control which is difficult, if not impossible, to shake off, unless one comes to Christ. So very often, they end up embittered, cursing God and spewing bile. They are not called “unclean spirits” for nothing. ‘A Course in Miracles’ is another feather in the cap of the CIA’s satanic ventures, all under the auspices of ‘mind-control’, now read and followed by many millions.
