“Mr. Morrison, you really should stick to writing about discipleship rather than wading into American politics about which you know very little. This is a Christian nation and President Trump is finally establishing that fact by purging it of all the criminal and perverted scum who have been desecrating it for decades. You are out of your depth when you start trying to lecture us with your half-baked liberal ideology. If you lived on this side of the pond you would have been detained and deported by now for your seditious and poisonous writings. The people who you seem to support on the streets of Minnesota are paying the price for their irresponsible behaviour. Quite right too. Some of them even invaded the Worship of God in a Church on the Sabbath recently, a heinous act for which even the death penalty would have been too lenient. When are you going to start living your alleged Christianity rather than merely paying lip service to it?”
Well that was interesting — especially when I listen to the ‘music’ behind your words — so, thank you. I like to get truth out into the open and you have now given me the perfect opportunity to do that. 🙂 So here goes…
First, there can be no such thing as a “Christian nation”. People calling themselves “Christians” can try and set one up (whatever that may be). But it will not last long because the world is evil. To imagine that we can eradicate sin and lawlessness by brute force through a so-called “Christian” government in this world is a complete delusion and there is no call for it whatsoever in Scripture. [Although I know that you lot like to mistranslate Jesus words in the Parable of the Minas as “Occupy till I come” (KJV, Luke 19:13), claiming that this gives us carte blanche to take over all the world’s institutions as an occupying force until the second coming of Christ. Talk about playing fast and loose with Scripture! However, the real translation is “Do business till I come”, referring to the need to use whatever gifts and talents we have been given by the Lord for the rest of our earthly lives, as the parable shows]. The world that we live in is an evil one and for that reason genuine disciples of Christ will suffer, rather than become its ‘bosses’ and gaining the upper hand over it. As Jesus said: “In the world you will have affliction” (John 16:33). The Greek word translated as affliction/tribulation there is θλῖψις, thlipsis, which has the meaning of being oppressed on all sides:
“Thlipsis is used of a narrow place that “hems someone in“; tribulation, especially internal pressure that causes someone to feel confined (restricted, “without options“). It carries the challenge of coping with the internal pressure of a tribulation, especially when feeling there is “no way of escape“” (HELPS Word Studies).
These are the realities of our life as genuine disciples of Christ. We are not meant to become bigshots ruling the world and lording it over everyone. That notion is for those who are not willing to bear their cross and who do not want to undergo being the despised of the world. Such a delusion is as far removed from the Christian life as one can get. “We must endure many hardships to enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22). “All who desire to live devout lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12). We are “destined for trials” in this wicked world (1 Thessalonians 3:3-4). Because the Lord has chosen us out of this world, for we are not of the world, the world hates us (John 15:19). Jesus said about His disciples that “they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world” (John 17:14). We can no more avoid being persecuted outsiders than He could. We are not on earth in order to forcibly turn it into a well-behaved squeaky-clean sin-free utopia. For that is an impossible task and to attempt to do so would be a heresy. Evil is the overriding feature of this world. Do you not realise that “the whole world is under the power of the evil one [Satan]” (1 John 5:19), and we are to be rescuing individual souls from that power rather than trying to make nations sin-free outwardly while the subjects of those nations remain hell-bound! It is right into the middle of this evil world that disciples of Christ are plonked in order to make other disciples through the power of the Gospel, even while they suffer and are treated like “the scum of the earth”, the dregs of humanity (1 Corinthians 4:13).
Proud people who are false “Christians” and impostors cannot tolerate that idea and want to play at being Boss-Man in their Gucci suits and blacked-out SUVs. This evil world is building up to a climax through the “mystery of lawlessness” which issues in the “man of lawlessness” who will be the ultimate in evil governance (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12). That is why Paul speaks of “the present evil age” (Galatians 4:4). We are a “little flock” (Luke 12:32) under the protection of Christ for as long as we are alive here. That is why, after saying that in the world we will have affliction, He immediately went on to say that we can take courage in the fact that He has overcome the world (John 16:33). That does not mean that He is right now making a wholly Christian world. Far from it! Jesus did not come to bring peace on earth at this stage in the proceedings but rather division (Luke 12:51)! Thus, our hope is in Christ to preserve us in the midst of an evil fallen world and not in any imaginary “Christian” nation or Christianised world. Disciples of Christ are not happy with the way the world is, but they do not have any unbiblical pretensions to clean up the whole world. Sure, government has been appointed to restrain lawlessness and look after the well-being of the people, but that does not mean a forcibly Christianised world, just a more restrained one.
Peace will only come to reign in the new heavens and new earth, after the destruction of this present cosmos, when all has been made anew (Revelation 21:1-7) and when there will be “no more curse” (Revelation 22: 3). It is a complete fiction to say that “President Trump is finally establishing [a Christian nation] by purging it of the criminal and perverted scum”. You can try and perform such a task but sin is only rooted out of a person through being successfully evangelised by the Christian Gospel of the atonement of Christ for sin. Establishing a nation by force — Christianity in jackboots — and rooting out the mere appearance of sin through draconian laws and tyranny can only ever work on a strictly temporary basis. (And I’m sure that the massive organised crime/mafiosi in the USA is not going to be suddenly developing halos as a result of the pretended drive to cleanse the land! Trump being the governmental equivalent of a mobster will ensure that). In all the years of Trump’s presidencies, I have never once heard anything remotely resembling the genuine Christian Gospel coming out of the White House or its cabinet. Not once. On the contrary, I have heard a lot of heretical drivel from him and his cronies — especially from his so-called “White House Faith Office”, headed up by a witch known as Paula White. (More about that “Faith Office” below).
Therefore, I say to you this: The ‘theonomy’ which you and your “TheoBros” have cobbled together is a fiction invented by those who have no understanding of what it means to be a genuine disciple of Christ. To imagine that you can manufacture a Christian nation or Christianised world is as misplaced and disobedient as the Jews imagining that can manufacture a nation today called Israel. That all belongs in the same presumptuous bag of unbiblical hubris.
To imagine that the USA was somehow established as a “Christian nation” is the height of delusion. (See the section “Is the USA Really a So-Called “Christian Country”?” in my book, “The Serpent and the Cross”, pages 172-177). How many Americans realise that their revolution was a Freemasonic/Deistic experiment from the outset carried through by Freemasons and liberal Deists (the so-called “Founding Fathers”), some of whom had close links to the most esoteric lodges in the world? So the idea of the USA being a “Christian nation” is fatally flawed, as any objective analysis will aver. Furthermore, even at a basic level, governments are not really in control of anything. There is a power-elite which runs things behind the scenes that is utterly corrupt and evil, the Devil’s plaything. Governments carry out the power-elite’s bidding, and I can assure you that it is not sympathetic to Christian values, although it may well use a pretended “Christian” government in order to serve its own warped ends temporarily (such as it is doing now 😉).
I have been reading much about you Dominionist people, and have also written an article some time ago, entitled “Backward, Christian Soldiers: The Spiritual and Historical Regression of Dominion Theology”. [You can read that here: https://diakrisis-project.com/2024/01/20/backward-christian-soldiers-the-spiritual-and-historical-regression-of-dominion-theology/ ]. When you spoke about the people who “invaded the worship of God in a Church on the Sabbath recently, a heinous act for which even the death penalty would have been too lenient”, you should have then gone on to say what that church really represented. The Cities Church in St. Paul is connected with “Christian nationalism” and has strong ties to Trump. While I do not agree with their methods and modus operandi, those protesters went into that church because of that fact and primarily because one of its pastors is David Easterwood, who stood alongside Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem at an October news conference and identified himself as “the acting field office director for enforcement and removal operations, St. Paul” and has worked for ICE since 2015. Those protesters were not simply disrupting a worship service for no reason, or because they were anti-Christian. Whether you agree with it or not, they were there to highlight spiritual hypocrisy. A founder of that church, Joe Rigney, wrote a book entitled “The Sin of Empathy: Compassion and Its Counterfeits”, which makes a straw-man out of empathy, falsely designating it as a fault of women. This hatred of empathy (which they wrongly identify, and which I have also seen noted by the likes of J.D. Vance and Charlie Kirk) is a hallmark of Theonomists/Dominionists today. These are cruel, heartless people who I would not want near my church and would certainly not want as a pastor. They use their pastorates for political as well as religious purposes. Personally, I would go nowhere near such a church as that one in St. Paul and would not even regard what was happening there on a Sunday as worship. Its basis is skewed from the start. Frankly, I fail to understand how a Christian pastor can reconcile his faith with working in an authority role in an organisation like ICE, whose DHS recruitment lately has, as I read and noted, been
“targeting ads toward people who listen to right-wing or “patriotic” podcasts, or who show an interest in guns and tactical gear, using phrases such as “sacred duty,” “defend the homeland,” and “foreign invaders.” They are recruiting from those who already hate foreigners and would be expected to have “white nationalist” credentials”.
See also these detailed interesting links for further information of this gross phenomenon: https://www.cbc.ca/news/ice-recruiting-9.7058294 , and https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jan/14/trump-administration-white-supremacist-language , and https://www.kpbs.org/news/border-immigration/2025/09/22/experts-concerned-about-white-nationalist-imagery-in-ice-recruitment-materials .
This is what your theonomy is all about. It has spliced the trappings of Christianity with elements which have nothing whatsoever to do with the spirituality of Jesus Christ but which are more aligned with the philosophy of the Ku Klux Klan.
You have the gall to ask me: “When are you going to start living your alleged Christianity rather than merely paying lip service to it?” You have no idea about how I live my life. You simply object to somebody who rumbles what you believe in as “Christianity in jackboots” — the kind of “fatherland” religion and nationalism which developed like a putrid cancer in Germany in the 1930s, enforced by Hitler’s Stoßtruppen which bear a remarkable resemblance of strategy to the pathetic cosplayers of ICE.
Because Dominionists do not believe in a coming Antichrist in a climax of evil but rather imagine they are Christianising the world to hand it over to Christ at His second coming, it is not beyond the bounds of possibility that they will be deceived as the world morphs into an interfaith peace confederation to facilitate global government. Certainly, the White House Faith Office is not exclusively for Christian faith but all faiths. Both the kingpins of that office, Paula White and Jenny Korn, are very much into ecumenism and interfaithism. See my article, “The Castration of the Gospel in the White House”: https://diakrisis-project.com/2025/05/20/the-castration-of-the-gospel-in-the-white-house/ and “Paula White Honors ‘True Mother’ Moon at Interfaith Prayer Rally”: https://faithfullymagazine.com/paula-white-tue-mother-moon/ and this Premier ‘Babel Undone’ interview with Jenny Korn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UrxkLZz9Yw . The lack of discernment among these Dominionist folk is breathtaking.
As for your idol, Trump — an uncultured, narcissistic, rambling, corrupt, blustering, bullying man who lied 30,573 times when in his first stint of office, yet that did not put you off voting for him again [see https://www.hilltimes.com/story/2024/10/21/according-to-the-washington-post-trump-told-30573-lies-during-his-four-years-in-office-but-it-doesnt-matter/438252/ ] — he is just a chaotic tool of the power-elite to bring in an AI-based surveillance-state and a Transhumanist dystopia of false transformation. The real players are his evil Vice-President and all the TechBros with whom he is associated. The “mystery of lawlessness” is doing its thing and having its way precisely because your idol is being tooled-up to pave the way for it.
I have listened to the philosophy you espouse from the mouths of many of its exponents and I find its counterfeit “Christianity” as far removed from the teachings of Jesus as one can imagine. Being a disciple of Christ should not make one hard, cruel, uncaring, autocratic, arrogant, pompous, haughty, advocating the death penalty for sins (as I have heard many of your type say), misogynistic even, and wanting to emulate tyrants and bullies. I have encountered many bullies in the Christian scene in my time. They seem to be attracted to Christianity because they know they can abuse others without any hindrance. For many in the Christian scene are so weak that they wouldn’t say boo to a goose and just toe the line, whatever atrocity is happening, just like they did in 1930s Germany, singing hymns to drown out the screams of those being tortured and incarcerated. This Dominionism is just another quasi-Christian bandwagon for billionaires to ‘lord it’ over others, in which one can be controlling without hindrance, ignoring the change from Old Testament to New, while fooling so many undiscerning minions that a “Golden Age” (a Rosicrucian term) is coming because of their warped, unbiblical policies.
When James and John wanted to command fire to come down from heaven and destroy the Samaritans, Jesus “rebuked them, and said, ‘You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them’” (Luke 9:55-56).
Precisely. And you do not know what manner of spirit you are of either.

EXCELLENT!!!!! I have been told that my heart has been hardened regarding my honest opinions of Trump. I have been told I should leave this country if I don’t like it here. I have been told that if I don’t vote then I have no business to speak about what is going on. But seriously I wish I could be even more bold like you are. I am so glad in spite of my own shortcomings to be reading your articles. But back in 2015 when Trump was running for President I had an aha moment. I said to myself ohhhhh he is going to become president to FOOL The Christians! Because they didn’t like Obama nor any democrats either. And sure enough here we are! 10 years later and he is still fooling These ultra far right militant Christians. Ugh! But I give myself to prayer and reading the Word on a daily basis! Yes I feel hemmed in too as you described it. This world is decaying. Just in nature alone you can see the mold. Insects dying. I had a few second vision of America several years ago. Burnt to a crisp with red embers here and there. And I was not terrified. Your Will be Done Lord. America will never be great and quite frankly this world is not my home. I know you know that. I’m sorry for the long comment but this was really good! I agree with you 💯!

Hear hear Alan. And as for Mr. Tool let me advise him Dominionism is a false Religion masquerading as Christianity. I am a legal Immigrant and naturalized US Citizen and took an oath to defend the Constitution against its enemies external and internal. I live here in the US and attend a conservative Presbyterian Church. I have been a Member of the NRA for 20 plus years. I despise those elected representatives who espouse free passes for illegals but the First Amendment is for Freedom of Speech and Assembly not for physical interference with those empowered by Government to perform their duties. (So to be clear I am not supporting the rioting Karens and their ilk). Also one of my children is a serving Federal Law enforcement Officer and a Marine so don’t tag me with any accusation that I am a liberal or a commie. But you Mr Theonomist want to impose Old Testament Law on a secular nation. No nation is Christian – only people can be Christian. And the Founding Fathers explicitly made clear that the Constitution could only work if the people were nominally Christian and Moral. Given that the United States has institutionalized Abortion and Pornography and Same Sex “Marriage” the only way America will avoid destruction is through national repentance. President Trump is not a Christian. He exhibits no Fruits of the Spirit. He thinks Tony Blair should be on his Middle east Peace Board. Blair did more to destroy the Fabric of British Culture than Adolf Hitler. Trump thinks Paula White is a Christian whereas (as Alan rightly notes) she is by definition, a Witch. I hope this scratches your itch and pray you will abandon the Chilton/Rushdooney heresies and get out and help the (materially) poor in your neck of the Woods.
