1) The Mass Formation Psychology of False Teachers on Social Media

I have noticed an interesting thing
on social media.
When a false teacher is plying you
With his or her false teaching
it will often be a very long piece
split up into many separate lines.

The same is true for “influencers”
hooking people up to their spiel.

.

So it will look like this.
and you will find many disparate thoughts divided up on the page.

Lots of short lines and much white space between them.
And the reason that it looks like this is easy.
It is because it creates a kind of rhythm
which has no consecutive flow
but a fragmentary one
with piecemeal information.

And it will lull you into its siren mess of broken ideas.
Pulling you in.
Like a propagandising vacuum cleaner.
Mindwashing you.

.

Put simply.
It has purpose.
It knows what it wants.
It wants you.
And your mind in a vacant state
Ready to have garbage poured into it.

By having no normal paragraphic flow,
or depth,
there is an effect generated.
At the subconscious level.

I asked AI why people do this.
It replied:

“Social media posts are often written as long, line-by-line blocks (a trend sometimes called ‘broetry’) to boost engagement. Platforms use algorithms that measure how long a user spends on a post. By creating generous whitespace and short lines, creators force users to scroll more and spend more time reading, which signals the algorithm to push the post to a wider audience. Also, presenting ideas as single-line thoughts creates dramatic emphasis. It turns every sentence into a standalone ‘micro-hook’ designed to keep the user’s attention from drifting away”.

Every sentence a standalone “Micro-hook”. That’s all you need to know. The idea of a “hook” is already well-known from the music industry, by which songs contain repeated words or phrases to ‘hook’ you, like bait, so that you keep singing it and, above all, buy it!

“She loves you, yeah yeah, yeah,
She loves you, yeah yeah, yeah,
She loves you, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah”.

“We will, we will, rock you, rock you.
We will, we will, rock you, rock you (everybody)
We will, we will, rock you, rock you (hmm)
We will, we will, rock you, rock you”.

“Sweet Caroline🎶
Good times never seemed so good
Sweet Caroline🎶
I believe they never could
Sweet Caroline🎶
Good times never seemed so good”.

The regularly appearing words in the song, “Sweet Caroline”, followed by that unmistakable “dum-dum-dum” after them has become an iconic hook. Then there’s that eight-note motif played over and over again on a guitar with a fuzz-box effect in “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones. A performer could live off the proceeds of one hooky song for a lifetime! The whole pop-music world is financed by hooks. It’s what they teach you to do in songwriting schools (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQreJCT77t4&t=3s ).

So the “broetry” people are taking the idea of the ‘soundbite’ to its ultimate manifestation (or lack of it!). You are fed a mass of these mini-soundbites (alias ‘micro-hooks’) to hook you in, to keep you infantilised and easy to manipulate, to sell their product — which in the case of the false teachers is… false teaching. You do not even have to think or to make lines flow into each other. It all just happens to you, and you are a sitting duck.

Well I do not want or need to be patronized with ‘broetry’. I want depth and authenticity. But most people do not, so they are already pre-programmed to receive gratefully these ‘micro-hook’ filled posts, many of which are written by AI apps which have received the ‘correct’ instructions from the ‘broets’.

However, there is far more to it than just that concerning why there are all these short lines and spaces between them; and this is where it starts to become interesting — or should I say sinister. The use of short phrases and repetitive words are commonly used in mass hypnosis as they are highly effective at capturing people’s attention, shifting the focus away from analytical thought, and then slickly steering huge numbers of people toward a specific emotional state. Skilled hypnotists and public speakers who have learned hypnotic techniques will generally use rhythmic, cadenced language with pauses in just the right places in order to maintain audience attention. They know how to use methods which bypass the conscious mind in order to control the audience subconsciously. You will find that certain phrases which are used will generally revolve around the same idea so as to ensure that the message goes home. All this is basic Hypnotic Techniques 101, and it is used by many politicians and all presidents (Obama and Trump are two of the very best at this — both clearly using learned hypnotic techniques in their speeches). And that is what is happening with all this “broetry” on so many social media posts, and even if they do not specifically utilise “broetry”.

The fact is — and I’m sorry to have to say this — that most people are witheringly stupid. They are literally living in a stupor which has been induced in them from countless sources (e.g., schools, dumb parents, idiotic friends, peer pressure, television, certain styles of music, university, the media, etc.) and therefore are already pre-programmed to be bamboozled, whether by a slimy politician, a soapflake advert or a false teaching mind-subverter. This is why false teachers can so easily gather huge followings while in-depth truthtellers minister to tiny remnants. This is all part of what is formally known as the Psychology of Mass Formation which explains how large groups of isolated individuals lose their independent critical thinking, conform to collective ideologies for some kind of inane security, and then cling to a controlling charlatan as their leader. This phenomenon is dependent on some sort of pre-programming as I have mentioned above. It involves an unconscious, hypnosis-like state that minimises personal identity and gives rise to a cognitive dissonance involving intense intolerance for any dissenting opinions.

This is why most people will not bother to read the works of those who write in-depth, investigative articles in dense but revealing prose. Because they are already primed to reject that out of hand as being too demanding and are thus open to receive the infantile hypnotic screeds of mass formation. You think you are just looking at the superficial writings of a false teacher on social media but you are actually witnessing the shrewd machinations of a mind-manipulator who knows how to work the crowd through viral posting on the internet which garner extra thousands of followers with each new post until hundreds of thousands are following them. They do not necessarily always use the ‘micro-hook’ ‘broetry’ format. They do not even need to have formally learned any of these techniques of mass formation. For because they are totally under the power of Satan, he guides them into this, for they are his techniques and the false teachers spouting all this baloney are his offspring — mere pawns in his anti-christ strategies.

Here’s an interesting thing: After the hooks are firmly in the flesh of the mindless victims of all these false teaching ‘broets’ or hypnotists, they do not have to be told to keep away from in-depth writers and thinkers. For as far as that huge number of people are concerned who are pre-programmed to receive the ramblings of mind-manipulators, any in-depth writers and thinkers are then automatically perceived as a threat and incorrect.

2) Why False Teachers on Social Media Always Target the New Testament Teaching About Hell

Having spoken about the techniques (or should I say “teachniques?) of these false teachers adopting hypnotic writing methods and other shrewd strategies of attraction, I now want to switch focus to discuss what seems to be their favourite Bible teaching to target. If I was Satan and I wanted to completely undermine the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which particular teaching would I start with as an absolute priority? Well, the Atonement of Christ on the cross, of course. Because that is what lies at the heart of the Gospel. No atonement, no Gospel. And if I wanted to do that in a way which is not too obvious to the ignorant (i.e., via a back door) and which would be most appealing to the mass of people as a soft target, what would I go for? The New Testament teaching on hell, of course, which most people find repugnant as it offends their narcissistic view of themselves as being beyond any form of judgement as well as (for them) not being anything which a loving God would do (for they have absolutely no concept whatsoever of Divine justice being part of that lovingness).

The more I have studied the ramblings of false teachers who are doing everything they can to undermine the beliefs of Christians and who use various methods of hypnotic communication on social media (including ‘broetry’), the more I realised that they have a primary underlying strategy. It is not merely about algorithms or using ‘micro-hooks’ to grab people’s attention. It is not about just hooking you in but about hooking you up to their teachings. If you examine all these false teachers’ written broadcasts — whether ‘broetry’ or otherwise — their primary attempts are to overthrow the Bible’s teaching about hell. Whatever else they talk about, they will always return to this subject as the centrepiece of their objections.

Two of the ways they go about this is to first try to separate Jesus from His real teachings. They just major on referring to those which (in their twisted mindset) seem to refer to “love and unity” while making out as if no other teachings of His exist. They also major on driving a wedge between Jesus’ teachings and Paul’s, as if Paul was randomly developing his own peculiar religion rather than opening up Jesus’ teachings as foreordained by Jesus Himself (as discussed recently in “False Claim #3” in my article here: https://diakrisis-project.com/2026/05/31/major-new-article-the-rat-poison-strategy-of-christian-deconstruction-how-bait-and-switch-ministries-of-enticement-operate/ ). This is because the New Testament writers develop the teachings that were already present in Jesus’ teachings about hell and these false teachers do not want attention being drawn to that. They want Jesus’ teachings about hell to be suppressed; and if ever they actually deal with them they twist the meaning of Jesus words on this subject terribly. There are dozens of these false teachers, both male and female, now on social media, and they have many thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, of followers.

So why target the Bible’s clear teaching on hell? You have to realise that almost all these anti-Christian screeds have been produced with one aim: To undermine the whole idea of the finished work of Christ. Their main thrust is a denial of the atonement of Christ and its resultant taking away of sin. They just want to preserve the ‘love ’n peace’ words of Jesus and remove all the rest. This is also why they so vigorously deny the reality of hell. Christ did away with hell for believers by undergoing all the pangs of hell vicariously, for them, on the cross. When Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46), that is signalling to the world that He truly underwent all the pangs of hell on that cross. That’s what hell is all about — being forsaken by God, separated from Him, like a “second death”, a spiritual death (Revelation 2:11; 20:6). On this separation from God, Paul said this: “Those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus…will suffer the penalty of eternal destruction, separated from the presence of the Lord and the glory of His might, on the day He comes to be glorified in His saints” (2 Thessalonians 1:8-10). That terrible eternal destruction, which is separation from God, is a summary description of hell, the same hell which Jesus described with such words and phrases as “outer darkness” (Matthew 8:12; 22:13; 25:30), “Gehenna” (used by Jesus to depict spiritual destruction, Luke 12:5; Matthew 5:29-230; 10:28; 18:9; 23:33), “unquenchable fire” (Mark 9:43); “eternal fire” (Matthew 18:8; 25:41), “eternal punishment” (Matthew 25:46), “hell (Gehenna), where their worm never dies, and the fire is never quenched” (Mark 9:43-48). He also said in a parable, “But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me” (Luke 19:27), which the great Bible commentator Heinrich Meyer says “shadows forth the completeness of the condemnation to everlasting death at the final judgment”. What the false teachers will never tell you or even admit is that Jesus said more about hell that anyone else in the Bible!

One can say that hell is right at the heart of the atonement, which is why these social media false teachers want to suppress it. The forgiveness of sins which is the effect of the atonement in human beings means a removal of the hell experience for the believing disciple of Christ, because Christ took that on Himself. “God made Him [Jesus] who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (1 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus was treated on the cross as if He was the one who is the unrepentant sinner, deserving only of hell. The impending experience of this hellishness is why He was so distressed (as far as His human nature is concerned) as He approached the time of it (Matthew 26:37-39; Mark 14:33-36; Luke 22:42-44; John 12:27), though He knew very well that He was born for this experience and therefore relished accomplishing it: “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? No, it is for this purpose that I have come to this hour” (John 12:27). For that was happening to Him in the place of those who really deserved it so that they would not have to undergo it but, if they repent, would have His righteousness imputed to them. This is why I say that the terrible experience of hell is at the very heart of the Atonement and thus of the Gospel also.

If these false teachers can (in their minds and to their prey) disprove hell, then that also negates the effect of the atonement and thereby nullifies the Gospel. Believe me, it is the removal of the whole idea of Jesus’ vicarious atonement which is at the centre of their aims, no matter which way they are coming at it, or even if they do not frame it like that. Thus, their aims are satanic, as it is Satan’s interests that are being served by these people, for there is nothing more that he wants to do than prevent people from taking the atonement seriously, as that is what lies at the very heart of the Gospel message and of Jesus’ words and teachings.

Are you feeling me on this? Can you see where I am coming from? Just examine carefully all these false teachers who try to take Christianity apart with their phony “deconstruction” ideas. Check them out on social media. They all go for the jugular of ‘hell’ as the most significant feature of their teaching. Every. Single. One. Well, now you know why. It is because hell is not just some optional add-on to the whole panoply of Christian teaching. Instead, it lies at the very heart of it as a vital part of the Atonement of Christ and thus the Gospel of Christ. Without the notion of hell, there is no Gospel. Period. End of. Because the purpose of the Gospel is to rescue people (save them) from hell and give them a new life in which sin can be overcome and death is just a transition ultimately to heaven and being part of the new creation to come, the new heaven and new earth.

Maybe you are already following one of these false teaching ‘broetry’ or hypnosis merchants because you are somewhat disillusioned with the visible church, or something has happened to you at the hands of people calling themselves “Christians”. They prey on people like you. You are the lifeblood of these social media false teachers. The majority of those they have successfully added to their followers are former professing “Christians” who have been hurt or disillusioned within the “Christian” scene. But they are stealing your souls. Though if you truly are Christ’s then no one can snatch you out of His hand (John 10:28-29). So I am hoping and praying that if you read this and you have somehow, through unfortunate circumstances, fallen for the cunning ‘broetry’ or other hypnotic tricks of these seducers, that reading this little piece will pull you back from the brink. Those teachers are nothing but liars and mountebanks. There are many problems in the visible church, including the people or situations which disillusioned you. It’s a mixed bag because the visible church is not the body of Christ. But hell is real! The Atonement of Christ for sin is real! The Gospel of Jesus Christ is real!
