AS A CONTINUATION of my recent announcement about a new music album, here is a bit more about it (in the video) plus another of the tracks from it. This one is called “The Battle for Everyone’s Heart” and is a folk ballad based on the Book of Revelation, chapters 12 and 13. I hope you find that it speaks to you. Just click on the video to listen, which is at the bottom of the lyrics. Here are the lyrics:
Now the dragon was once a glorious star,
but his pride made him ripe for a fall.
So from here to heaven, he furrowed a scar;
on his belly now he has to crawl.
His sole desire is to rule the world
through a kingdom with him at the head.
Against the saints his arrows are hurled,
and he won’t rest — no he’ll never rest
until those saints are all dead.
So that dragon he dragged off one third of the stars,
and he threw them down to the earth.
And then he tried to position himself
where a woman was poised to give birth.
His aim was always to smite her Son,
for he knew from predictions of old
that by this Man he would be undone,
and would be destroyed — oh he’ll be destroyed
exactly as had been foretold.
[Refrain]
War in heaven and war on earth —
it’s happened here right from the start;
and still it goes on right up to this day —
ancient interplay in the fray of
the battle for everyone’s heart.
But the Child grew up, yet He was God- Man;
there are books of Christ’s words and His deeds.
And the dragon (unaware of the scope of God’s plan)
still continued to sow his dark seeds.
But when that Man reached the age thirty-three
that dragon then threw his best stone
when he stirred up the world to kill off the Man
who was then taken up — taken up and then
He ascended to His rightful throne.
In the heavens, a terrible battle had raged
with the dragon at the head of his kind.
Against the archangel Michael he waged;
with the dark and light angels entwined.
But the dragon and his archons were thrown to the earth;
they could no more in heaven be found.
So now they vent fury for all that they’re worth:
and now you’ve no excuse — no excuse, for you know
just why such chaos abounds.
[Refrain]
War in heaven and war on earth —
it’s happened here right from the start;
and still it goes on right up to this day —
ancient interplay in the fray of
the battle for everyone’s heart.
Now while I have been recounting this tale,
you may have been wondering who
the dragon could be when you lift up the veil
and why he attempted this coup.
His names are known, though some ridicule
through ignorance and disbelief.
The devil, or Satan, is not just a ghoul
like you see on the screen; he is real, and he’s been
a liar from the start and a thief.
There will come a time when the dragon empowers
a man who is lawless and cruel.
He will seize reins of power and call himself “god”
and over the world he will rule.
Building his ‘kingdom’ across this sphere
will be that ‘beast’ being worshipped as “Lord”,
empowered by the dragon as his puppeteer
he will be revered — by all will be feared,
while his Lie will be loved by the hordes.
[Refrain]
War in heaven and war on earth —
it’s happened here right from the start;
and still it goes on right up to this day —
ancient interplay in the fray of
the battle for everyone’s heart.
So all of the chaos around you today
is caused by the dragon’s desire
to stir up rebellion ’gainst God — disarray.
To this end, all his lackeys conspire
This is all to prepare for that ‘beast’ yet to come
that’s where every act’s leading today.
The players we see on our screens, in ‘the news’,
are pawns in the game and their role’s to defame
the Christ who will enter the fray.
So now we have come to the end of this song
which spans the whole curtain of time.
For this world is a stage on which all became wrong
on the way to a new paradigm.
We are here so we learn that we have to submit
to the fact that we don’t act alone.
For the death of that Child about whom I have writ
has carved out the way if we’ll join Him today.
Soon the dragon will be overthrown!
[Refrain]
War in heaven and war on earth —
it’s happened here right from the start;
and still it goes on right up to this day —
ancient interplay in the fray of
the battle for everyone’s heart.
