“A day is like a thousand years” for God;
how many will eternity entail?
The question is rhetorical, to prod
you into thinking ’bout your chosen trail.
Please see this world for what it really is:
A theatre and a school rolled into one.
And now, here is, for you, a little quiz:
Where does your soul go when it’s been and gone?
For we are here for such a little while,
playing our parts as extras unless we
wake up to how we’ve fooled ourselves with guile
and learn about the truth that makes us free.
It will not be, from then, an easy ride;
but you will know you’re on the blesséd side.

“Who do you think you are?”, folks will then shriek.
“It’s arrogant to claim I do not know
this truth to make one free of which you speak.
I’m free to go where’er I want to go”.
That’s how it seems to those who do not know:
You think you’re free to do just what you want.
It’s true, you can indulge yourself, but woe
to you when you will face your Commandant.
“I have no Commandant, you haughty fool.
My life is mine to do with as I will”.
That’s what you think, but over you He’ll rule,
when death for you becomes a bitter pill.
If you would just acknowledge you’re not boss
of you, well then you would not suffer loss.

“Me? Suffer loss? I’m doing very well;
unlike you who has nothing, nada, nil
to show, you’re poor as far as I can tell.
I am a self-made man through my freewill”.
Those things you have acquired in this life
are made of elements which will dissolve.
Your thinking that such things will last is rife
in those who round themselves their minds revolve.
But One has come who shows us other ways
of how to live upon this fallen earth.
He said we must hang loose to ‘things’ always —
deny our selves and undergo new birth.
Two thousand years have passed since He appeared;
all most have done since then is scoffed and jeered.
