During a visit to Hong Kong, 30 years ago, I found a book created by Christian ex-monks (Budhist I think) to illustrate key Bible stories in a Chinese way, clothes, boats, facial hair and environment. Jesus as a China man – why not!
I was surprised that there was work going on like this. Great to see.
Just recently, in discussions with some Chinese work colleagues I learned about the challenges they face. They explained fact that in some regions there are many long-time believers, so much so that local government leaders are sometimes brought in from outside the community to avoid having Christians in office.
